NWS will recognize NSU as StormReady

The National Weather Service will recognize Northwestern State University as StormReady during a program set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 7 in the Alumni Plaza. Warning Coordination Meteorologist Charlie Woodrum and Senior Meteorologist Jason Hansford will present the university with a recognition letter and Storm Ready sign on behalf of the National Weather Service.

The public is invited to attend. The Plaza is located adjacent to A.A. Fredericks Fine Arts Auditorium in the Creative and Performing Arts complex, 150 Central Avenue.

In case of rain, the ceremony will take place in Hanchey Gallery.

  1. What do they mean “in case of rain? If you are truly storm ready you will know days before if it’ll rain or not. Unless you’re one of those fools who depends on those silly, expensive sirens, LOL! Another waste of taxpayer money by our fearless leaders.
