CLTCC Announces Don Sanders as New Director of Welding

Donald Sanders has been named Director of Welding for Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC), announced Chancellor James Sawtelle.

Sanders has more than 40 years of welding experience with nearly 30 years in management and teaching welding. After retiring from Hayes Manufacturing, Sanders served as a Welding Instructor at Buckeye High School where he is credited for building the top welding program in the Rapides Parish School District. “We are excited at the contributions Mr. Sanders will bring to our manufacturing and fabrication programs and even more so at what his expertise will mean for our students and employers,” Sawtelle said. “We’ve seen what Mr. Sanders has accomplished throughout his career and most recently for secondary education, and with him on board we are looking forward to offering one of the top welding programs in the state.”

Sanders holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Louisiana College and many current welding certifications. This position is made possible through a grant from The Rapides Foundation to promote Workforce Development.

  1. Please teach these kids. The previous instructors just babysat them. Most kids completed the course not even knowing the basics! I have worked with a few of them that graduated from the program!
