Several railroad crossing guards at intersections near the Northwestern campus were down sporadically throughout the day on June 21, causing general confusion and traffic congestion. A Union Pacific representative confirmed that there was an electrical issue at the Second Street crossing, which impacted three other crossings including the one at Jefferson Street. Crew members were on site making repairs.
