The Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame & Northwest Louisiana History Museum celebrated its 6th anniversary Saturday, June 9.The museum had open admission for the day and served ice cream, and tea to the visitors. In addition to the museum’s traveling exhibit, sports and historical displays, volunteers offered family fun with arts and crafts and horseshoes. Sisters Torres and Geddes, missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, helped with the arts and crafts as part of their community service while former St. Mary’s standout and current NSU Demon Matt Nelson was joined by several of his teammates from the Demon football team in playing horseshoes with the visitors. In addition to its mission of preserving and promoting our state’s heritage, the programs at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame & Northwest Louisiana History Museum provide quality family fun and build family memories. The Natchitoches Parish Journal wishes to congratulate the museum on its 6th anniversary. May they have many more as an integral part of our community!
