  1. these council members aren’t the brightest colors in the box
they must be voted out and soon,please…..vote no on ball field .

    • What facts? Provide them.

And again, in case you missed it, my concerns focus on THIS MAYOR being given blank checks by the city council and told to support financially ANY project.

      I’ll await your facts.

      • Resolution #054 is still hanging out there. The City Council again, willing to hand this mayor a blank check. Punting on their fiducial duties to protect Natchitoches taxpayers. Watch. This resolution will come up, no discussion, “all those in favor?” The ayes have it, and off they’ll go to the next item. Then this mayor will be free to once again over-spend, perhaps even on a project the city has no business being involved in!

PLEASE voters, vote out this mayor and this whole rubber-stamping, do-nothing city council. Not once will a council member question anything!

      • I know it appears I am just picking on this one project, but it just happened to be the one that caught my eye. I am not in favor of giving this mayor ANY authority to do anything. The City Council is as much at fault. Look at the other resolutions: annexing 87 acres, leasing city (TAXPAYER owned!!!) property to individuals…are these good deals? Maybe so. But based on the $12 million boondoggle do you trust this mayor and city council to make sound, sensible financial decisions on YOUR behalf?

        Just asking…do you?

      • No doubt about it. They will try to slip it by. Which is why we all need to be vigilant and monitor their published agendas.

  2. thought Veterans were federally funded are our taxes going up again.
All great points Jason keep on brother !

  3. On Resolution #054

To authorize The Mayor to agree to support the cost of the Louisiana Veterans Affairs building.

The Mayor? First, why does the city have to (here we go again)provide city TAXPAYER money to pay for a State of Louisiana entity? And does anyone trust this mayor to make a sound financial decision?

Now, some of you might have a knee jerk reaction and blurt out, Hey! this is about our Veterans! They deserve our support. And, I agree. This country does more for illegal immigrants than it does for our gallant Vets. But, that’s not the point.

I could say, Hey! the city should provide support for kids to have a safe place to play ball, and who would have a problem with kids having a great place to play ball? Taken on the emotional aspect of it, it’s a slam dunk. Who could possibly have an issue with that? But, I give you the $12 million Posey Park…

My point is, when I see an agenda item like this on the City of Natchitoches Council meeting, I get nervous.
