Gator Nation Registration-Smashing Success

Lakeview Jr. & Sr. High School kicked off the 2019-2020 school year in grand fashion Aug. 1 with Gator Nation Registration. More than 475 parents, students, and community members attended the event. While scheduled to last from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., people began coming in at 9:30 a.m. and did not finish up until well after the 3:00 p.m. deadline.

In addition to registering students and receiving schedules, students and parents were also able to visit booths set up where they could sign up for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, sports, and organizations.

Students were able to interact with their teachers, coaches, and club sponsors in an informal environment to encourage positive relationship building. The cheerleaders showed off some new stunts and raffled off several items while the dance team led campus tours and mingled with the guests. Student ambassadors from several of the organizations were on hand to speak with the new students and their parents about their experiences at Lakeview.

PBIS provided free popcorn and drinks for the day. Lakeview was also excited to play host to the Natchitoches Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated as they continued their dedication to civic service by holding a voter registration drive where eligible students spoke with representatives about voting and were able to register on the spot.

Thank you to all those who came out to Gator Nation Registration. The community support and support from the families is vital to the success of the students and the school.
