The Northwestern State tennis team added to its impressive academic record by being recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team for the 11th straight season.
Teams are required to post a 3.2 GPA or higher, and the Lady Demons accumulated a 3.8 GPA.
“I am so proud of the way our entire team excelled in the classroom,” said NSU tennis coach Patric DuBois. “The strong results they have in the classroom is a tribute to each of them in the way they manage their time, energy and focus on the task at hand.
“The results they achieve on the court and in the classroom are well worth the countless hours they put in to these aspects of their university education.”
Six of NSU tennis’ eight student-athletes earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status with GPAs of at least 3.5.
NSU’s Polina Mutel, Rhea Verma, Patrycja Polanska, Judit Castillo-Gargallo, Antonia Blattner and Emilija Dancetovic were named ITA Scholar-Athletes for their work in the classroom.
Individuals must have also earned a varsity letter in that season to be eligible for the honor.
