TWO OKLAHOMA MOTORCYCLISTS ARRESTED DURING PURSUIT IN NATCHITOCHES

Two Oklahoma motorcyclists were arrested in Natchitoches Parish on Sunday afternoon after they led Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies on a twelve-mile pursuit then crashing their motorcycles according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

On Sunday afternoon, August 4, at approximately 3:16pm, Deputy Victor Kay was running stationary radar on Interstate-49 just south of Natchitoches when he clocked three northbound motorcycles traveling 95 miles per hour in a posted 75 mph speed zone.

Deputy Kay attempted to stop the motorcycles, however, they refused to stop leading deputies on a pursuit in excess of 100 miles per hour.

Additional deputies were contacted to assist.

Deputies say just south of Natchitoches, one of the motorcyclist pulled over onto the northbound shoulder.

The other two, continued northbound, one exiting at the Natchitoches exit failing to stop at a stop then back onto the interstate traveling northbound.

Deputies say the pursuit continued with the motorcycles gaining a large distance from them in a long straight away between the Natchitoches and Posey Road exit.

Deputies continued the pursuit and observed the motorcycles in a distance exiting Interstate-49 at the Posey Road exit north of Natchitoches.

As units were exiting the interstate they observed a black 2016 Suzuki motorcycle involved in a minor crash on Posey Road.

The operator of the motorcycle identified as 37-year-old Edward Seward of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was taken into custody without incident.

Other Sheriff’s Units continued to travel on Posey Road discovering the second motorcycle, a yellow 2013 Suzuki involved in a single-vehicle minor crash at the intersections of Posey Road & Johnson Chute Road.

The operator of the motorcycle identified as 37-year-old Joseph Ross of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was taken into custody without incident.

During a search of Joseph Ross person incidental to his arrest, deputies discovered a suspected THC lolliop.

Natchitoches EMS responded to both scenes and assessed both suspects who refused treatment.

Deputies arrested:

Edward Seward, 37, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Speeding 95/75, Reckless Operation of a Vehicle, Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, No License Plate, Passing on the Right, and No Proof of Compulsary Insurance.

Joseph Ross, 37, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma transported and booked into the Natchioches Parish Detention Center charged with Speeding 95/75, Reckless Operation of a Vehicle, Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Possession of CDS I Narcotics, Passing on the Right and other traffic offenses.

Both Seward and Ross remain in the Natchitoches Detention Center awaiting bond.

Both motorcycles were impounded by a local towing service.

  1. Thank goodness those motorcycles were Suzuki ‘s. They sound like lawnmowers…wouldn’t want to offend anyone with a Harley Davidson that sound like twisted steel and sex appeal…
