The Natchitoches Police Department and the Natchitoches Fire Department arrested four juveniles for arson. The NPD received a call in reference to a fire at 100 Beaufort Boulevard at 5:45 pm on Aug. 2. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a witness who advised he went to use the restroom, smelled smoke coming from the building and immediately called 911.

No injuries were reported in this incident however, investigators estimate the fire caused approximately $5,000 worth in damage.

On Aug. 5 a joint investigation involving the fire prevention officer from the Natchitoches Fire Department and investigators with Natchitoches Police Department yielded the arrest of 4 juveniles ranging in age from 11 to 13. All 4 juveniles were charged with simple arson and placed in WARE youth detention center.
