
Creole Heritage Center Director Loletta Wynder spoke to the Natchitoches Lions Club at its Aug. 19 meeting.
The 21st annual celebration of the NSU Creole Heritage Center will be held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27-28 in the NSU Sylvan Friedman Student Union Ballroom and on the Rue Beauport Riverfront. The theme for this year’s event is “Let Your Legacy Live On” Faith, Family, Fitness, Food and Fun
There will be a “Legacy Fun Run & Walk” on Saturday which will be led by Dr. Chris Maggio, President NSU along with special guest, Emmy Award Winner Actor Robert Ri’chard who has been named the Ambassador for the National African American Male Wellness Initiative Foundation and co-founder of the Highway Fit project.
Also, Oct. 1 is to be known as Clementine Hunter Day in Louisiana and Saturday, Sept. 28 there will be a tribute to Dr. Clementine Hunter by family and friends.
Activities on Rue Beauport Riverfront are free to the public.
