Natchitoches Tribe of Louisiana members learn about their culture at first NTL Women’s Meeting

The Natchitoches Tribe of Louisiana held its first NTL Women’s Meeting on Aug. 25. The event was hosted at Browne Lake in Coushatta Louisiana. Thirty people attended in person, and 10 attended online. Audricka Young from the NTL Tribe and Jurae Letherman-Hunter from the Seminole Nation educated the women on the history of the ribbon skirt, tribe and how to make Fry bread. The women will make a ribbon skirt at home and share their projects later as part of the women’s tribal education. The women had a great time spending time with each other and learning.
