Northwestern State University will host Family Day Saturday, Sept. 28 when families are invited to spend time with their student on campus and in the Natchitoches community, tailgate and enjoy NSU football.
A complete Family Day Package includes a ticket to the NSU-Southeastern Louisiana football game, tailgate dinner and Family Day t-shirt. All students and family members must be registered to participate. Children three years and older must have a ticket for the tailgate meal and to attend the football game. Students should also be registered for the Family Day meal. All event tickets are non-refundable. Reservations must be received by noon Friday, Sept. 20 to guarantee t-shirt sizes.
While student reservations are required for the dinner and t-shirts, students will use their NSU student ID for admittance to the football game.
Family Day check-in will be at the NSU Tailgate Field beginning at 2:30 p.m. The tailgate party with live music, games and family activities will begin at 3 p.m. The tailgate meal, served from 4-5 p.m., will include hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad and a drink. Individual dinner tickets may be purchased for $10. Pregame pep rally at the tailgate field will be at 5:30 p.m., followed by the pregame show in Turpin Stadium. Siblings are invited to join their brother/sister on the field to form the tunnel for the Demon football team runout. Family seating will be available on the east side of Turpin Stadium. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
