Lions Club holds successful Slice of Thanks event

Pizzas were served up to Veterans, Active Military, Police Officers, Fire Fighters and First Responders during a “Slice of Thanks” event on Nov. 4.

This event was sponsored by Louie’s Pizza of Many, The Lions Club of Natchitoches, and Thrivent Financial Action Teams. It was an honor for these groups to serve veterans, active duty military personnel, fire fighters, law enforcement officers, and first responders in Natchitoches Parish a complimentary pizza lunch, beverages, and a time to be appreciated.

Louie’s Pizza, LLC was founded by Michele and Louis Smith of Many, who desired to start a mobile food business that brought Michele’s Italian heritage and love for pizza to Louisiana, while at the same time using that mobility to give back to communities across the state.

The Lions Club of Natchitoches – The Lions Club International was founded on December 2, 1943 and is the world’s largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.

Thrivent Financial inspires their members to live a life of generosity while also helping to fund the projects their members are approved to do through their Action Team program.

Wooden Flags were purchased and sponsored by Louie’s Pizza and Prayer, Inc. of Many and Thrivent Financial Action Teams and were given to veterans, active duty military personnel, fire fighters, law enforcement officers, and first responders in Natchitoches Parish during a free drawing for a chance to win a beautifully-created large wooden flag specific to their line of duty.
