Library to Host Outdoor Family Film

The Natchitoches Parish Library’s (NPL’s) ready for its next outdoor movie! Don’t miss Honey I Shrunk the Kids on Friday, November 22nd at 7 PM in Natchitoches City Park off Amulet St. This family-friendly film is rated PG and has a runtime of 93 minutes. Released in 1989, the story begins with kids sneaking into inventor Wayne Szalinski’s (Rick Moranis) upstairs lab to retrieve an errant baseball when his experimental shrink ray miniaturizes them. When Szalinski returns home, he destroys the device, which he thinks is a failure, and dumps it in the trash, throwing out the kids along with it. The four children, now 1/4-inch tall, must survive the journey back to the house through a yard where sprinklers bring treacherous storms and garden-variety ants stampede like elephants.

There is no admission fee and free concessions, sponsored by the Friends of the NPL, will be available. Attendees may also bring their own food and drink. As seating will be in the amphitheater area of the park, people are encouraged to bring chairs or a blanket. Those interested may follow the NPL’s Facebook Event for updates and more information.
