I wonder why in all these years the city never built another bridge ?
if you hit either bridge around 5 traffic is backed up bad and the lights are slow.Mostly why I avoid going to town at all due to traffic.
What ever you build in its place, keep it within the nostalgic theme of Historic Natchitoches architecture and do not construct a modern looking structure in its place. Tourist come from all over to see the old historic look of days long ago. Lots of memories across that old bridge. And do not make it a toll – that’s what the Northerners do to rob the working people – keep that in New York City! Besides it will mean less money spent in the shops for the merchants, economic prosperity is main priority. Make the bridge a jewel on the river and a Gateway of long ago.
make the new one a toll bridge and help keep front street nice and
help pay for pot holes on Williams.
