NCHS Band Director Recognized as 2020 Band Director of the Year

Aleisa Hudlow, the band director at Natchitoches Central High School, was recognized by the District II Band Directors’ Association as the 2020 Band Director of the Year. She was nominated for this award by three other directors in the district, after which all nominees were placed on a ballot. Mrs. Hudlow received this award at the District II BDA Honor Band Concert on Saturday, January 25th. She will serve as one of the honor band conductors in 2021 as a result of this honor.

Mrs. Hudlow is a 2007 graduate of Northwestern State University, and in December 2019 she also received her Master of Music degree from NSU. As an undergraduate at NSU, she was a member of several music ensembles, including the Spirit of Northwestern where she served as drum major of the SON in 2006. She has worked in Texas and throughout Louisiana, where her ensembles have regularly received superior and excellent ratings in assessments. Mrs. Hudlow is in her third year as band director at Natchitoches Central High School. In her time at NCHS, the band has participated in marching competitions, solo and ensemble festivals, concert and sight reading festivals, and community parades, all of which has earned the band awards for their performances. Mrs. Hudlow is married to Dr. Adam Hudlow, with whom she shares two beautiful children, Jack and Lily.
