Natchitoches had the honor of hosting an amazing sports icon, Ms Connie Clark on March 7. Ms Clark, as many know, recently retired from her 23 year career as the Head Softball Coach of the Texas University Longhorns. Clark was invited by LC Diamond Nation (Pete Pleasant & Kevin Jeane) and Diane Dodd (Diamond Nation 10U softball coach and Natchitoches resident). Dodd and Clark at Cal State University Fullerton and both are members of the 1986 National Championship Team.
Clark visited Natchitoches to perform a mini pitching clinic for the softball pitchers of the Diamond Nation softball travel team. Coach Dodd said this is just the beginning of exciting future plans. She is committed to bringing the likes of Connie to Natchitoches moving forward.
“We are currently putting together our first annual softball clinic in March of 2021”, said Diane.
Clark, Dodd, Diamond Nation, and Natchitoches’ Parks & Recreation Director Kevin Warner are committed to bringing quality softball to Natchitoches with the hopes that college scouts will be flooding the town.

I’m so blessed to be buddies with Connie. She’s going to help us in 2021 with our own softball clinic in Natchitoches. I have a ton of amazing softball ladies who want to give back to the game!
