According to Kris: A Fashion Quarantine

Happy Wednesday Stylers, I get it, when you’re stuck at home, it’s hard to summon the energy to watch much more than something comforting on Netflix. But, due to the coronavirus quarantine, This is the perfect opportunity to dive deep into the weird world of fashion I live in and while designers put their work on pause, there are plenty of ways to engage with them and their work. To help you pass the time, we’ve pulled together a handful of my favorite fashion theme movies and tv shows your can binge.

TV Shows
The Bold Type (Hulu) It is inspired by the life and career of former editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine Joanna Coles, who also serves as executive producer of the series.

The Assassination of Gianni Versace American Crime Story (Netflix) In July 1997, Gianni Versace is shot in front of his Miami Beach mansion by Andrew Cunanan, who met the famous designer once in San Francisco in 1990.

The Carrie Diaries (Netflix)It’s 1984 and a pre-Manolos-and-Mr.-Big Carrie Bradshaw, Carrie as a teen is how you would expect her to be.
Katy Keene (CW) If you’re a fan of Riverdale then you will love this show.
Gossip Girl (Netflix) My introduction to the upper east side, so many fashion moments in this show.

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA (2006) -This isn’t a fashion movie, this is the fashion movie.

OCEAN’S EIGHT (2018) This movie is set at the Met Gala so you can imagine the fashion in this movie.

A SIMPLE FAVOUR (2018) -This movie was an unexpected fashion force thanks to Blake Lively’s character, a troubled fashion industry employee who dresses exclusively in three-piece power suits inspired by the film’s director, Paul Feig, who wears suits even on his days off.

The September Issue (2009) Weighing in at a record 840 pages, it is also the magazine’s most important issue, find out why!

Mahogany (1975) -Struggling Chicago fashion design student Tracy (Diana Ross) goes from rags to riches.

Happy Watching…
