Natchitoches Parish President John Richmond issued a Public Health Emergency Declaration to ensure that preparations will be adequate to deal with emergencies, like the current Coronavirus outbreak, and to preserve the lives of the people of the Parish.

There is reason to believe that COVID-19 may be spread amongst the population by various means of exposure, therefore posing a high probability of widespread exposure and a significant risk of substantial future harm to a large number of Louisiana citizens. Governor John Bel Edwards declared a Public Health Emergency for the state on March 11.
