STOLEN JEEP RECOVERED CRASHED NEAR GORUM

Shortly after 3:00pm, members of Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #1 assisting NPSO Deputies in the search for a stolen vehicle in Gorum discovered the vehicle crashed in a ravine off of La. Hwy 119 near Horsehead bridge according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

NPSO Deputies, Louisiana State Police and Detectives assigned to the NPSO Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene.

Deputies say the stolen 2012 Jeep Wrangler was traveling eastbound on La. Hwy 119 east of Gorum operated by a unknown person when the vehicle exited the road on the right side, traveling through a ditch. The vehicle then went airborne across a creek ravine striking a tree head-on.

The vehicle came to a rest in the deep ravine.

No one was around the vehicle, however, deputies believe the operator may have received some form of injuries.

Deputies and Louisiana State Police checked the immediate area but were unable to locate anyone.

The vehicle was believed to have been stolen from a residence in the 200 block of La. Hwy 119 between the hours of 10pm and 9:00am this morning.

A local wrecker service worked for approximately 1 hour before the vehicle could be recovered from the ravine.

  1. I don’t see how anybody could have walked away from this. She or he probably has extensive injuries, so a check of hospitals in the area might turn up your thief. Whoever you are, I hope you got medical attention.
