Faculty and Staff of the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) stepped up to take the students’ place at Cane River Food Pantry on Thursday, May 7. LSMSA students, who often volunteer at the Food Pantry, were unable to lend a hand due to early school closures brought on by COVID-19.

Mary Teekell, school nurse; Dr. Justin Barker, instructor of English; Dr. Karen Stirrett, instructor of biology; and Jenny Schmitt, assistant director of student services volunteered their time to pack boxes and bags for more than 250 local families.
