
The National Park Service released it’s 2019 economic impact report for park gateway communities on June 11.
For the Natchitoches area, 29,900 park visitors spent an estimated $1.8 million in the local community while visiting Cane River Creole National Historical Park (Oakland and Magnolia Plantations). These expenditures supported a total of 25 jobs, $677 thousand in labor income, $1.2 million in value added, and $2.2 million in economic output in the local economy surrounding Cane River Creole National Historical Park.
