NPSO: SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY LEADS TO NARCOTICS ARREST

Reports of suspicious activity by concerned citizens in Campti recently led to the arrest of a Red River Parish man on felony drug and probation violation charges according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday June 5 at approximately 11:25pm, Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Division stopped a 2013 Ford Escape on Mill Street in Campti after receiving complaints of the vehicle acting suspicious in the area.

Deputies identified the operator of the vehicle as 39-year-old Johnathan Bonnette of Coushatta.

Deputies learned while speaking with Bonnette that his driver’s license was suspended and he was on felony probation.

Deputies say Bonnette admitted to having drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

During a search of Bonnette’s person, deputies seized suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.

Johnathan Bonnette, 39, of the 1400 block of Hwy 787, Coushatta, La. was placed under arrest, transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Possession of CDS I Marijuana, Possession of CDS Schedule II Methamphetamine and Probation Violation.

Bonnette remains in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center with a probation hold.

The seized evidence will submitted to the crime lab for narcotics analysis.

Deputy K. Samuel made the arrest.

  1. Look at that smile. This guy is the happiest man to be arrested you’ll ever see 😀

“…the vehicle acting suspicious in the area.” How exactly does an inanimate object act suspiciously? The Ford Escape had a goofy grin on its face, and wouldn’t make eye contact….. 🙂
