Mayor of Natchitoches – Runoff Election on August 15th

The July 11, 2020 election results were as follows:

City of Natchitoches Mayor
Incumbent Lee Posey received 1,985 votes, challengers Ronnie Williams and David Kees received 2,092 votes and 162 votes respectively.  None of the candidates received enough votes to reach 50%+ of the votes cast.  Ronnie Williams did take 49.3512% of the votes cast resulting in a runoff election for City of Natchitoches – Mayor’s with Lee Posey on August 15, 2020.

City of Natchitoches – At Large Councilperson
Incumbent Don Mims was defeated by challenger Betty Sawyer Smith.  Mims received 1,905 votes and Ms. Sawyer received 2,197 votes to win the At Large Councilperson’s seat.   Mr. Mims has served in that capacity since 2000.

City of Natchitoches – District 1

Eddie Harrington returns for another term.  He was unopposed.

City of Natchitoches – District 2
Dale Nielsen returns for another term.  He was unopposed.

City of Natchitoches – District 3
Incumbent Sylvia Morrow will face Christopher Petite in the runoff election on August 15, 2020

City of Natchitoches – District 4
James Below, Jr. and Rosemary Washington will face each other in the runoff election on August 15, 2020.   Incumbent Lawrence Batiste was defeated.

Village of Powhatan – Mayor
Hardrick Rivers defeated Jamkia Neal to win the Mayor’s seat in Powhatan, Louisiana.
