
UPDATE
NPSO, STATE FIRE MARSHAL, MULTIPLE FIRE UNITS RESPOND TO FATAL HOUSE FIRE IN CAMPTI
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Louisiana State Fire Marshal Office, Natchitoches Parish Fire District #9 assisted by Natchitoches Parish Fire District #6, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS, Campti Police and the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office arrived on the scene of a fatal house fire on Aug. 4 in the 100 block of Wood Street in Campti according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright.
NatCom 911 Center received the call at approximately 7:59 am.
Deputies say upon their arrival the front right side of the residence was engulfed in flames.
One fatality was confirmed in the fire. Eleanor C. Gill, 87 of Campti, was identified as the victim, according to Natchitoches Parish Deputy Asst. Coroner Steven Clanton.
Family members have been notified. The body will be sent for an autopsy. The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.
State Fire Marshal investigators and NPSO detectives remained at the location along with NPFD# 9 to process the scene.

State Fire Marshal investigators are processing the scene as they do in all fire fatalities along with NPSO detectives.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
The name of the fire fatality victim is being withheld to ensure family members have been notified.
