The Natchitoches Lions Club delivered several boxes of non-perishable food items to the Northwestern State University Food Pantry this week. Pictured are Lions Club members Josh Pierson, left, and Heather Fredieu, right, with Dr. Denise Bailey, assistant professor of social work and Food Pantry sponsor. The Food Pantry has remained open this summer, with a large percent of its patrons international students who remained in Natchitoches over the summer. The Lions Club also supported the Food Pantry through a monetary donations.

The NSU Food Pantry began as a project for a social work class and developed into a resource available to all NSU and Bossier Parish Community College @NSU students. Anyone interested in making a donation can do so through by contacting Bailey at garlandd@nsula.edu of call (318) 357-6129.
