NCHS Strong Start 2020-21; iPads will be issued as follows

The faculty and staff of Natchitoches Central High School believe that every student is entitled to an education in a safe, disciplined, and challenging environment. The primary goal of Natchitoches Central High School is to ensure the safety of all students and faculty within our district.

All families were given the choice to choose face to face or virtual learning. If the family chose face-to-face, their student learning will be dictated by their grade level. Ninth-twelfth grade students will adhere to an A/B hybrid schedule, in which Mondays are fully virtual and students attend either Tuesday/Thursday or Wednesday/Friday.

NCHS will provide IPAD’s to students who are registered for virtual learning. On August 27 and 28 students will be issued an IPad. The students parent must come and sign a consent form for the student to receive the device. All virtual students must be registered at NCHS to receive an IPad. Devices will be issued based on the following schedule:

Thursday
8:00 A-B
9:00 C-D
10:00 E-Je
11:00 Jo-L

Friday
8:00 M-O
9:00 P-R
10:00 S-V
11:00 W-Z

High school students will return to school on an A/B or alternating schedule. Students will attend on “A” days (Tuesday and Thursday). Students will attend on “B” days (Wednesday and Friday). Mondays, all high school students will stay home and assignments will be given online. The first day of school for students is Monday, August 31st. This week will be a soft start and students will attend based on the following schedule:

Last names A-C: Monday, Aug. 31, 2020
Last names D-H: Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020
Last names I-M: Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020
Last names N-S: Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020
Last names T-Z: Friday, Sept. 4, 2020

Then, on Sept. 8, 2020 all classes will resume. High school students will attend based on the Hybrid schedule. Students will utilize Google classroom for all school assignments. Attendance will be counted daily in hybrid classes.

NCHS and Natchitoches Parish School Board are working every day to ensure that we are meeting all of the requirements from the CDC (Center for Disease Control), LDOE (Louisiana Department of Education), and LDH (Louisiana Department of Health) to effectively begin school. We look forward to a great school year.

    • I would like to know this too because it isn’t clear…so the kids who show up in person only get 2 days of instructions a week or so they get and iPad for the two days they are at home??

  1. My Granddaughter is in JROTC but I signed her up for Virtual. She found out this week she can’t do Virtual and be in JROTC. Can we take her off Virtual?
