SINGLE-VEHICLE CRASH ON LA. HWY 117 SOUTH OF KISATCHIE

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies , Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS and Natchitoches Parish Fire District #4 are on the scene of a single-vehicle injury crash on La. Hwy 117 south of La. Hwy 118 near the Kisatchie Community according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the operator of the vehicle was traveling northbound on La. Hwy 117 when he apparently left the road on the right side striking a tree.
Deputies say injuries in the crash are non-life threatening, however, the operator of the vehicle is being transported to a Shreveport hospital for treatment.

If you are traveling through the area, which is not advised due to weather conditions, pay attention to the roadway, and avoid distractions.

  1. If the roads in Natchitoches parish were maintained the roads would be safer to drive on. Hwy 117 is one of the worst roads in our parish. There is no excuse for this. Hwy 478 between La 117 and Hwy 120 is terrible and dangerous. The Hwy department says they ride on all the roads in Natchitoches parish to see what needs fixing. I say BS

    • I agree Charles. We are in need of having 117 fixed. Also HWY 478 (between 117 and 120). But anyday now, the state will begin working on 478 from Vowell’s Mill/Provencal road to hwy 117. A real waste of money. I can’t imagine who made the decision to overlay a road that has minor issues like this. When we have others in far worse shape, to the point of being dangerous.
