City Council introduced to angels, belles, a queen and assistant attorneys

The Natchitoches City Council met this year’s Christmas Angels at its meeting Monday night, Dec. 14. Angels include Emma Outlaw – Pre-K, Bella Bearden – K, Raylee Barton – 1St, Kambria Berry – 2nd, Paige Jenkins – 3rd, Adalyn Rhodes – 4th, Brinlee Berry – 5th, Ainsley Pickett – 6th, Annaliece Romero – 7th, and Addison Evans – 8th.

Miss Merry Christmas, Katherine Anderson, and her Christmas Belles (Brianna Laird, Jensen Parker, Baylee LaRoux, and Mary Grace Long) also visited with the Council. They sang the traditional Christmas jingle that each group of girls gets to personalize. The jingle for 2020 included nods to mask wearing and social distancing, keeping it relevant with the state of the world we’re living in. However, it also had lots of cheerful and bright imagery like fireworks and Christmas lights.

Another group that the Council was introduced to for the first time is the the Assistant City Attorneys that were appointed, including Tommy Murchison, Cloyd Benjamin Jr., Steven Oxenhandler, Gary Conlay, Alex Lyons, Jonathan Blake, and Joe Stamey.
