Jack Duty, executive director of CASA of Central Louisiana spoke to the Kiwanis Club of Natchitoches. In 2003, CASA of Natchitoches was incorporated to provide foster children in Natchitoches Parish a voice in court by training competent volunteer advocates to appear on their behalf. In 2006, the name was changed to CASA of Central Louisiana, and the area served was expanded to include Sabine and Red River parishes. Their mission is to provide quality advocacy and a strong voice to abused and neglected children in Natchitoches, Red River, and Sabine Parishes. Through recruitment, training and supervised volunteers CASA serves as the eyes and ears of the judge in working collaboratively to ensure that each child’s best interest is met.
