Super 1 Foods named Official Grocery Store of NSU Athletics

NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State Athletic Department and Super 1 Foods announced an extension of its partnership Monday, making Super 1 the Official Grocery Store of NSU Athletics.

Super 1, which entered the Natchitoches market in 2001, operates two locations in town – one at 5696 Highway 1 Bypass and in Dixie Plaza at 318 Keyser Avenue.

“We are thrilled to add Super 1 Foods to the Northwestern State Athletics family as its official grocery store,” NSU General Manager of Corporate Partnerships Nathan Razo said. “Super 1 has a strong presence in the Natchitoches community and has been deeply involved with the youth of our area through its association with Vic’s Kids Club, which they will maintain through this extension.”

Super 1 Foods has been the sponsor of Vic’s Kids Club, which provides free entry to NSU athletic events for children in the eighth grade or younger.

As the official grocer of Northwestern State athletics, Super 1 Foods provides the Natchitoches community with the largest selection of grocery items in town and will remain the sponsor of its Kids Day games at various Demon sporting events, adding to the overall fan experience at NSU athletic facilities.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with Northwestern State University to be the Official Grocery Store of the Demons,” said Brad Brookshire, Chairman and CEO of Brookshire Grocery Company. “Our goal is to serve customers with the very best grocery stores and employee-partner teams while also furthering our commitment and involvement in the community. We look forward to a long and meaningful partnership as the Official Grocery Store of the NSU Demons.”

Northwestern State’s existing relationship with Super 1 has seen the Natchitoches locations embrace co-branding with NSU Athletics in a mutually beneficial agreement.

“It’s so rewarding to have a partner like Super 1 who brands their store in support of NSU, has added a small selection of NSU merchandise in store, and even participates in things like ‘Purple Priday’ by allowing their employees to wear purple polos to show their Demon pride,” Deputy Athletic Director Dr. Haley Taitano said. “They certainly make the most of our partnership and we can’t thank them enough for all that they do to support our NSU community.”
