Northwestern State’s season opener at Lamar postponed to March 27
The Northwestern State football team has waited 457 days to return to competitive football, but the Demons will be forced to wait some more. Saturday’s season opener at Lamar has been postponed because of the snow and ice covering roads in Louisiana and Texas. Kickoff is at 3 p.m. NSU now opens its spring football schedule at home on March 6 against Nicholls, which will be broadcast on ESPN+ at 6 p.m.

The series reverts to a three-games-in-three-days scenario, which was the original plan before it briefly became a Saturday-Sunday set. Northwestern State and Southern Miss will play at 5 p.m. Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday and 12 p.m. Monday at Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Winter weather prevents Northwestern State from traveling to Texas Tech meet
Because of snow and ice covering Louisiana and East Texas, the Northwestern State track team will not be able to travel to the Texas Tech Matador Qualifier scheduled for Friday. The meet was slated to be NSU’s final regular season competition before the Southland Conference Championships from Feb. 28-March 1.
