St. Mary’s Catholic School will hold its May Crowning on Friday, May 7 at 8:30 am at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church. May Crowning is a Catholic tradition that honors Mary, our Blessed Mother, during the month of May. All St. Mary’s students, Kindergarten through 12th grade, will participate.
It is a long-standing tradition of St. Mary’s for all students to process as a school to the Church with the senior boys leading the group, carrying a statue of Mary. Each student brings flowers to place on the altar in Mary’s honor.

I’m not Christian but this is just such a lovely ritual and I’m so glad these children get to participate in it.
