Lakeview High School held its annual awards banquet Thursday evening. The cadets were recognized for their efforts during the school year. Awards were given out for Academics, Community Service, Personal Fitness, Attendance, and more. They also conducted Spring Term promotions and a Change of Command ceremony where Cadet Emma Hatten assumed command of the cadet corps.
Some of the notable awards for the evening were the annual Unit-Level awards. The following cadets received trophies for their achievements:

Academic Award (2nd year & above) – Zoie Britt
Fitness Award (Female) – Emma Hatten
Fitness Award (Male) – Tanner Gardner
Cadet of the Year (Freshman) – Dylan Fulton
Cadet of the Year (Sophomore) – Hannah Walsworth
Cadet of the Year (Junior) – Emma Hatten
Cadet of the Year (Senior) – Cameron Taylor
National-level awards were also presented on Thursday evening. Cadets received a certificate and will wear a ribbon on their uniform to signify their accomplishments. The annual awards were ranked lowest to highest as follows:

Military Officers Association of America Award – Micah Martin
Reserve Officers Association Award – Jo Porter
Daughters of the American Revolution Award – Cami Faircloth
The Order of Daedalians Award – Emma Hatten
Air Force Association Award – Zoie Britt
Major Stacey Wiggins, Senior Aerospace Science Instructor, and Chief Master Sergeant John Thomas, Aerospace Science Instructor hosted the evening festivities. At the end of the official ceremonies, they recognized the recently retired teacher Major Bob Kellogg who taught JROTC at Lakeview for 21 years.
