Crime Stoppers comes to Natchitoches

The City of Natchitoches is working to cut down on crime with the approval of interesting agenda item item at its Monday night meeting, June 14. The Council approved the terms and formation of a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the City and Crime Stoppers of Natchitoches, Inc.

President Carmella Parker, Vice President Jay Sharplin, and Secretary Mike Bonnett came before the board to talk about the newly formed organization. They hope to offer rewards of up to $2,000 on homicide cases to work toward building a safer community.

Sharplin said the group is looking forward to working with the City and law enforcement to get a lot of bad guys off the street.

This program plans to be up and running within the first two weeks in July. An official announcement will be made once details are confirmed.
