Martin Iddon has been hired as Northwestern State’s assistant director of facilities, the athletics department announced Tuesday.
Iddon interned with NSU facilities since January, performing daily maintenance on all facilities while serving as the game manager for women’s soccer.
“Martin provided invaluable support during the busiest season we’ve ever had this past spring, said Mike Doty, director of athletics facilities and event management. “He jumped in and ran soccer and other events without any hiccups as an intern.
“That experience, and the way he was able to articulate how he wanted to continue to contribute to the overall success of the athletics department were readily apparent. I know we won’t miss a beat with Martin on staff full time.”
Iddon worked for more than three years with the Crossroads Soccer Association in Alexandria, first as a club program and education coordinator, then as an academy director and finally as the executive director.
Iddon is pursuing a masters in sports administration at NSU after obtaining a bachelors in sports therapy from the University of Worcester in the United Kingdom.
