Miss Anastasia Marie Nelson was chosen as the 2021 NCHS Homecoming Queen Thursday, October 7 and will reign over the 5-0 Chiefs as they face off against Southwood High School Friday, October 8. Miss Nelson was crowned by NCHS Principal Micah Coleman before a packed amphitheater of fired up Chief fans at the downtown riverbank. Miss Nelson plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and to pursue a career in medicine as an anesthesiologist. The Natchitoches Parish Journal wishes her all the best as she pursues her studies.
The pep rally was positively volcanic as the various classes competed for spirit honors. The Pride of the Tribe NCHS band fired up the crowd. NCHS Spirit groups performed, and students competed in games to the crowd’s cheers. Principal Coleman joined the football coaches in a relay race, emerging victorious against a team of football players.
The Chief’s hard work and dedication has resulted in the best start of any season of the past few decades. They are a phenomenal group of hard working, disciplined and talented young men. When they face Southwood High in Turpin Stadium Friday, they will have the entire NCHS community behind them. The Natchitoches Parish Journal wishes all the best to the Chiefs as they play Friday.
