The Natchitoches Parish Journal reached out to the University of Louisiana System and asked for two items of information: the contact telephone number (cell number preferred) and the direct email address for each of the candidates who were selected as semi-finalists for the position of President of Northwestern State University. In addition, the NPJ asked for the contact telephone number (cell number preferred) and the direct email address for each of the ULS Search Committee members.
In response, the NPJ received a call back from a staff member of the University of Louisiana System stating that they could not provide the information requested regarding the semi-finalists for the position of NSU President. In connection with the second request for the contact information of the ULS Search Committee members, the ULS staff member said she could provide one general ULS email address from which emails could then be directed by the ULS staff to the individual NSU Presidential Search Committee members.
As of the writing of this letter, the NPJ still does not have any contact information for any candidates other than Marcus Jones and Virginia Burkett. As of this date, no information about any other candidate has been obtained by the NPJ, and no other candidate has directly submitted any information to the NPJ, other than the information contained in the news release which announced all of the semi-finalists which appeared in an October issue of the NPJ.
The NPJ has not been able to contact those four other candidates despite a direct request to the UL System office for their contact information. Therefore, the NPJ is using this public medium to ask for the public’s help in obtaining contact information about the other four candidates, including their direct contact information, in order to request the submission of any feature regarding their candidacy as a semi-finalist for the position of NSU President.
