Stolen firearm returned back to local citizen

In June 2019, members of the Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force (NMJDTF), Natchitoches Police Department, and the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office seized multiple firearms during an investigation, in which multiple subjects were arrested. One of the seized firearms had been reported stolen by the owner, Matthew Pagels. While filing the police report, Mr. Pagels was able to provide authorities the serial number for the stolen firearm, which greatly increased law enforcements chances of locating it.

On 12/8/2021, after the successful adjudication of the case, Agents were able to return Mr. Pagels his property back.

You never want your valuables to be stolen, but law enforcement officials advise a simple thing you can do to be prepared: write down the make, model, and serial numbers of your firearm(s).

The Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force would like to thank the Citizens of Natchitoches for their support. Many times an investigation begins with a simple phone call or tip from a concerned citizen. For this reason, the Task Force encourages all citizens to report any crimes in their neighborhoods anonymously by calling 318-357-2248, The Natchitoches Police Department, or the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
