The City of Natchitoches was host to the 2021 IIMC Region IV Conference (International Institute Municipal Clerks) region IV includes the following states; Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas.

On December 8, 2021, fireworks were shot from the north end of the riverbank for the visiting conference attendees
