Northwestern State’s additions to its football roster did not stop Wednesday.
The Demons announced the signing of Tyler Junior College defensive back Ronnie Caldwell on Friday.
Caldwell becomes the 10th signee of NSU’s early signing class and the eighth to come from the JUCO ranks.
A 5-foot-11, 195-pounder who played his high school football at Cedar Park High School near Austin, Texas, Caldwell had 23 tackles and a tackle for loss for the Apaches, who won the Heart of Texas Bowl 28-7 over Coffeyville Community College on Dec. 4.
Caldwell also had 44 tackles in his first season at TJC, which followed a senior year at Cedar Park in which he tallied 109 tackles, six sacks, four fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles, three pass breakups and an interception.
Caldwell joins Kilgore College running back Kennieth Lacy as Texas junior college players in this year’s signing class.
