Classmates from Central High School’s Class of 1969 recently had the pleasure of dining with several past teachers, role models, mentors, mother figures and father figures. Usually, appreciation and praise are shown after a person has passed on. The purpose of honoring legendary teachers was to show appreciation and give praise while they are still here.
Those being honored were: Mrs. Zelma Moffett, Mrs. Lusetta Rogers Anthony, Mr. Paul Morgan, Coach John Winston, and Coach Robert Jackson. Classmates were Jimmy Roy Jackson, Gwen Williams, Joseph Roque, Travis Barnum and John Robertson.
Also attending were Betty Wiggins (Mrs. Anthony’s Sister) and Mrs. Oneda Morgan. It was a wonderful evening with Minister Gwen Williams opening with a prayer, a welcome done by John Robertson, and Praises/Acknowledgements done by Joseph Roque.
The Class would like to also thank Karen Wallace and her staff from The Legacy Café for providing a wonderful meal. The Class has plans on doing this again later this year for other teachers.
