District Attorney Announces Guilty Plea and Sentencing in Sexual Abuse Case

District Attorney Billy Joe Harrington announced today the guilty plea and sentencing in a sexual abuse case.

Michael Mobley, 36 of Cloutierville, pleaded guilty in the 10th Judicial District Court to two counts of molestation of a juvenile and one count of computer aided solicitation of a minor.

Mobley is a registered sex offender with previous criminal convictions of indecent behavior with a juvenile and aggravated crimes against nature.

Judge Desiree Duhon Dyess sentenced Mobley to a total of 25 years of imprisonment at hard labor and a total $20,000 fine.

District Attorney Billy Joe Harrington said after the sentencing, “the sentence imposed today will remove a dangerous sex predator from our community and from potentially harming other children. We commend the victim and their family for their courage in coming forward to report this horrible crime to authorities which resulted in delivering justice for the victim. Hopefully, the family will continue to heal from this tragic event.”

Assistant District Attorney Bray Williams prosecuted the case.
