Gaining experience buying and selling real estate and managing rental property since he turned 18, Natchitoches resident Dane Terrell is now a licensed agent with Rhodes Realty.
Managing up to 100 units at a time, Dane’s family recently got out of the rental business, but Dane wanted to continue to work in real estate.
“I have the skillset to be successful at this and have gotten to know a lot of people through the years serving customers at Ivan Smith Furniture in Natchitoches and as a landlord to countless renters.”
Being the store manager for Ivan Smith’s Natchitoches location and being an agent at Rhodes Realty will go hand in hand for Dane as he’ll get to help people find what they’re searching for at both jobs.
“Rhodes Realty CEO and Broker Rodrick McIntosh has been my agent for the last several years,” Dane shared. “I think he’s the best there is, so it only seemed natural to join the Rhodes Realty team.”
Want to become a landlord but managing units seems a daunting task? Besides helping people buy or sell a home, Dane will offer property management services including evaluating property, marketing property, tenant screening, rent collection, inspections and property maintenance.
As a student at Northwestern State University Dane started off on the maintenance side of property management by doing all the repairs on his father’s property. He also got his start in the furniture business while he was still a junior in high school working as a delivery driver at Ivan Smith before moving into sales.
“It’s not always easy, but I don’t think there’s much that’ll show up that I haven’t dealt with,” he said with a smile. “My jobs are very similar because at the end of the day I love helping people. That’s why entering the real estate field seemed like such a good fit to me.”
Dane also chose Rhodes Realty because he’s seen them give back with their time, talents and money more than any other company, and that’s important to him because he tries to do the same thing.
A Natchitoches resident for 35 years, Dane is firmly planted in the community.
“You’ll see me at the ball game on Friday night, at the local restaurants, supporting fundraisers, and dancing downtown at the festivals,” he added. “I can relate to people that live here locally and I can help people who are relocating learn more about the area.”
