The Natchitoches Lions Club recently held its Annual Awards and Installation Banquet. President Sarah Giannone presented several awards before turning over the gavel to Incoming President Vallery Washington.
Over the last year, the Natchitoches Lions have returned to in person meetings as well as returned to the day care centers and schools in the community to provide eye screenings to young children.
Lions also awarded annual scholarships, as well as embarked on a new journey of sponsoring a Cub Scout Pack. The Natchitoches Lions also teamed up with the local VFW, American Legion and Troop 60 to provide a Flag Retirement Ceremony for the community. Club members also participated in a new health initiative sponsored by the NRMC Wound Care Clinic. And, Lions collected funds that were then sent directly to Lions Club members in Ukraine to help with recovery efforts.
Next week Lions Club members will be traveling to the Louisiana Lions Camp where they will provide a traditional Natchitoches meal (Meat Pies, of course) to campers. These are just a few examples of ways that the Natchitoches Lions Club continue to carry out their motto #WeServe.
