Randall Mallette receives Louisiana County Agricultural Agents Association Achievement Award

Randall Mallette of Natchitoches, Louisiana has received the Louisiana County Agricultural Agents Association Achievement Award. Randall serves as the County Agent for Natchitoches and Red River Parishes in Northwest Louisiana.

The Achievement Award recognizes excellence in the field of professional Extension for members with less than ten years of service. Randall grew up in Lucedale, Mississippi and earned his bachelors in Animal and Dairy Science from Mississippi State University. He began his extension career in 2015 as county agent in Natchitoches Parish, with both 4-H and agriculture responsibilities. In 2018 he took on additional agriculture responsibilities in Red River parish as well, becoming Red River parish chair in 2020. Randall works closely with producers, home owners, and 4-H youth in his parishes by conducting on-farm crop demonstrations, instructing artificial insemination courses, leading pesticide recertification courses, teaching Master Gardener courses, and training youth for contests such as forestry and plant science.

Randall was recognized at the National Association of County Agricultural Agents conference in West Palm Beach, Florida in July.
