The Louisiana Department of Education hosted its inaugural 2022 Powering Up Early Childhood Conference on July 21-24 to provide opportunities for education and training to child care providers, teachers and families regarding all aspects of Early Childhood.
Along with over 2,300 Early Childhood professionals in attendance, the City of Natchitoches Early Childhood Development’s Early Childhood Coordinator Amy Metoyer-Roberson and Orchard Foundation Program Manager for Early Childhood Rebekah Simpson attended the conference in New Orleans, as well as: Director/Owner Aneesha Abdullah of A to Z 123 Preschool, Director Jessicus Berry of Bright Beginnings, INC, Owner Faye LaGrange and Director Tina French of Fays Daycare, and Director Angela Bullock, Lead Teachers Chelsea Mitchell and Mary Millet of Lil Rascals Daycare in Provencal.
The content and breakout sessions supported the following LDOE Believe to Achieve educational priorities:
* Provide the highest quality teaching and learning environment.
* Remove barriers and create equitable inclusive learning experiences for all children.
* Cultivate high-impact systems, structures, and partnerships.
* Enhance Communication and guidance for family engagement and support.
