Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Aug. 15 at 8:15 am on Interstate-49 near milepost #128 just north of the Cypress exit according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say a dump truck hauling approximately 12,000 pounds of rock was traveling northbound on I-49 when the operator stated he had a blow-out causing him to exit the road on the left side traveling through the median and barriers coming to a rest in the southbound lanes.
There were no injuries.
Both lanes were blocked, however, deputies were allowing traffic to slowly continue through the area on the shoulder.
Louisiana State Police and the La. Department of Transportation and Development responded to the scene.
Cable barriers were stretched out into the southbound lanes.
