Welcome to Weaver. The Flyers are Ready for Takeoff!

In an auspicious beginning to the school year, the M. R. Weaver School was filled with several hundred students, parents and family members attending the school’s open house Tuesday, Aug 16. Two sharp looking scholars from the Weaver Elites program greeted each person arriving with a “welcome to Weaver!” Principal Armetrice Williams introduced her faculty and support staff and spoke to the attendees about her expectations for the year. Ms. Williams is in her second year as a principal and is ready to build on last year’s success in achieving growth in all four areas of testing, math, science, ELA, and social studies. After the introductions, the families proceeded to their child’s homeroom to meet their teachers, tour the school, and complete paperwork.

The 373 young men and women of the Weaver Flyers have much to choose from to continue the fun and learning after the final bell. The school has a large 4-H program, a superb choral program, American Sign Language, Spanish, WIN (What I Need), and is starting a Good News Club this year. The young scholars of the Weaver Elites under coach Antonio Beaudoin continue to set a high standard of scholarship, leadership, and service as they have for the past several years. The parish is a better place for coach Beaudoin choosing to teach here after his service with the Marines.

The Natchitoches Parish Journal wishes the boys and girls of the M. R. Weaver School every success in their academic journey through the school year. We are looking forward to seeing their accomplishments!
