City Council Meeting: August 22

The Natchitoches City Council held a brief meeting on Aug. 22. Agenda items included:

PLANNING & ZONING – FINAL:

Amend Ordinance No. 64 Of 2001 By Changing Zoning Classification Of Property Located At 1230 Washington Street from B-3 Commercial to B-3 Commercial with additional B-A zoning for high and low alcohol consumption on premises at the seafood restaurant.

ORDINANCES – FINAL:
Declare Certain Buildings Unsafe And Recommending That Same Be Demolished Or Put Into Repair To Comply With The Building Code, Authorizing Notice To Be Served, Fixing Hearing Date And Appointing Curator To Represent Absentees. This includes 409 Martin Luther King Dr. (Already demolished), 910 West St., 801 Fourth St. (Already demolished), 153 Pierson St. (Boarded Up), 223 Pierson St., 1539 Stella St., 1203 Rusbo St., and 729 Salim St.

ORDINANCES – INTRODUCTION:
Execute An Instrument Entitled “Service Agreement” Under Which The City Will Contract For Consulting And Professional Services From Merchant McIntyre & Associates, LLC, Related To Pursuing And Obtaining Federal Funding.

Amend the 2022 – 2023 Budget To Reflect Additional Revenues and Expenditures.

RESOLUTIONS:
Enter Into A Cooperative Agreement With The Louisiana Department Of Veterans Affairs To Support The Cost To Operate And Maintain The Natchitoches Parish Veterans Service Office.

Advertise For Bids For Caustic Soda For The Water Treatment Plant (BID NO. 0655)

Approve The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) For Financial Assistance From The State Of Louisiana DOTD, Division of Aviation For The Natchitoches Regional Airport.

Advertise For Bids For Wastewater Collection System Rehabilitation, Keyser Lift Station (BID NO. 0650)

The next scheduled City Council meeting will be Monday, September 12, 2022.

The City of Natchitoches offices will be closed on Friday, September 2, 2022 for Employee Appreciation Day and Monday, September 5, 2022 in honor of Labor Day.
